At first glance at the New Yorker cover for July 21, I thought the it was a depiction of Bush and Rice come out of the closet – too serious a thought that one.

In the last years since 9/11 I’ve seen The U.S. send it`s soldiers outward to where they are not wanted and turn it`s weapons of security inward where they are not wanted. To corroborate my sense of what has always been wrong with that picture, this quote takes me to a place that just seems stifling.
On the growing polarization of the U.S. mentality.
“Underneath this apparent accommodation to our diversity, we are in fact hunkering down in communities of like-mindedness, and it affects our ability to manage difference,” Clinton said.
The phrase “Divide and Conquer” comes to mind.
