I do like overcast lighting.
The kind of diffuse lighting and hot spring activity that makes for this particular kind of shot have always caught my eye, I don’t know if that actually makes them good shots or not, but I’ve always liked them.
In the end it’s the visual environment that makes this my favorite time of the year in Yellowstone – New Snow! New Mood!

You just have to love what can be done with quality equipment. This shot was taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi, I highly recommend it for the serious enthusiast.

Paintbrush
Having entirely to much fun with the wild flower bloom this year, a lot of precipitation and cooler than normal temps are really turning things green and growing.

Drastically Cool
Have you ever had one of those WTF am I doing moments, had one tonight. I found myself wandering around looking at a lunar eclipse in the middle of the night, on a dark, treacherous hot spring basin walkway – in the freezing cold – with a camera on my shoulder. This shot was almost worth it.
