The kind of diffuse lighting and hot spring activity that makes for this particular kind of shot have always caught my eye, I don’t know if that actually makes them good shots or not, but I’ve always liked them.
In the end it’s the visual environment that makes this my favorite time of the year in Yellowstone – New Snow! New Mood!

Most recent favorite in the lawn art category. The lawn art hobby is likely to get me in nearly as much trouble as the Yellowstone wildlife photo efforts. Trying to get that perfect shot, from just the right angle, is causing me to disregard what would otherwise be common sense on occasion.
Someone is just going to up and shot the perv stumbling around on the lawn without an invite.
Still brighter than sticking my flashy thingy in a Bison’s face, however!
