Homesick invovles the concept of home. I have seen the word since I was a child, of course, and I grew up in a fairly normal home.
The concept I think of as home has to do with comfort, safety, and consistency( it has to be reliably “there”! ). We all have our fears and if I were to define where and what “Home” is, I guess it would be that place where fear is not; the means to keep fear “outside”. Don’t get me wrong – I am almost always the first one out the door, but we all need that place to rest from it.
Security would be a not function on the home front. Security of many types, mostly personal, have always seemed a little to easy to me…leads to worry and a “Grass is always greener” mind set; so it, strangely enough, can’t really be ever present where home is.
Home, then , is something that I create as I go, and Homesick only a breather.
And now that I have overkilled that, remember…
