Touristadors

Caught these two three year olds watching tourists again today, seems to be a sport with them. In this case the cinnamon caught my scent, being up-wind of them they spotted me right away. I was about a hundred yards from the bears and about fifty from a group tourists who were sight seeing a hot spring feature that`s my arrival point for hiking I do in the area, the bears were about fifty yards from the tourists as well, sheltered from being seen without looking very closely by the grass, from the direction of the guests.
As I continued on toward the feature, the bears continued to watch, the tourists noticed my camera as I approached, with my best friendly manner on, and immediately started a very recognizable defensive reaction that says, “you are cutting in on my right to be first in line to see the cool stuff in the park, and to cut in on other folks because they simply do not have the same rights as us, because if I`m not rude enough with everyone I see right now I may miss something – and you aren`t welcome!” So, I waved from a safe distance and went on about my business.
Everyone comes to Yellowstone to see the bears. I guess it never occurs to them how often they themselves become the object of curiosity here. It was more fun not to tell them.
It`s possible that I have been here to long – I think more of the bears than the people.
