Drastically Cool

Have you ever had one of those WTF am I doing moments, had one tonight. I found myself wandering around looking at a lunar eclipse in the middle of the night, on a dark, treacherous hot spring basin walkway – in the freezing cold – with a camera on my shoulder. This shot was almost worth it.
Settings are everything
Ok - we`re done!
Wow! I never knew there was an eclipse happening. Whilst waiting for the preview I found this too. Wow!

I wasn’t prepared to shoot the moon this night, I was more interested in the hot spring. The rapid decline in the light from the moon created a lot of variance in a very short period of time – a lucky catch for shooting this kind of long shutter speed stuff.

We watched it off and on for over several hours. Even with only the naked eye it was wonderful to see.
