Such Nonsense!

11 February 05

Magpies and the raven`s ties,
Strut they do with those raven`s eyes.
Dress them in your mind while the raven flies.
All that `midst the magpie`s cries.

A butler`s tux for the ancient bird
While a magpie`s ties are thin and bright
And the butler`s tux is black as night
With a somber neck, so tight!

The wise old bird cocks an eye it seems
At the frantic flutter and the bursting seams
Of the magpie`s waistcoat, as it gleams
From sun and shade amidst his preens!

Clatter and chatter is the magpie`s game,
Not at all what makes the raven`s claims.
The raven`s gait goes with his costume such
That the magpie`s glare is a touch too much.

A finer pair without a care, you could not
Find, and still have flair to spare.
